The maegic craenk
The craenk [kɹˈaŋk] are the first BMX three piece cranks made by maegic BMX. Chromoly 48 spline axle without clamp bolt. Chromoly tubing and threads. 175mm length 9/16 pedal threads. A particular challenge for me is building my own BMX crank. Extreme accuracy and precision are especially important here, because any inaccuracies are immediately noticeable when riding. I think the result is very good, but I still see room for improvement in the jig and in the preparation for welding. A little more precision, and you wouldn't notice that these are hand-built. I've now ridden the crank myself, and despite the lack of hardening, it still sits firmly and hasn't bent even under the toughest conditions. I'd say almost full points.
![]() Riding the maegic vaenomI'm always asked whether you can seriously ride my self-welded maegic [mˈæd͡ʒɪk] BMX bikes 🤷♂️ David Hoffmann tried the vaenom [ˈvɛnəm] out, even though the weight of the bike and the air pressure weren't exactly optimal for a first guard flatlander 😎 Don't miss what the 3rd German Championships 2024 has to offer at the 2nd half of the video 🤩 Frame: maegic vaenom
